Sofia is the capital city of Bulgaria.  Volunteers from Aberdeen YMCA had the privilege of visiting the YMCA in Sofia during Easter 2003 and experience the wonderful hospitality of the Balkan republic. 

As a consequence of that visit, a sponsored cycle was held by youth members of Aberdeen YMCA to raise funds which would help youth members of the YMCA Sofia to travel to Prague and participate in the European Alliance of YMCAs 2003 Youth Event.

In May 2004, the Board of Directors of Aberdeen YMCA agreed to support YMCA Sofia with a small annual donation for the next 3 years.
