Many respond to the call to serve and those who do are making a difference in the lives of others.  As a volunteer you will be able to play a key role, as part of a team, to allow God's spirit to work to change lives.  Without volunteers the work of the YMCA would cease!

People volunteer for a variety of reasons - but usually it to help others.  In the process, however, volunteers find that they benefit from volunteering themselves.  In many ways volunteering with the YMCA is a fellowship exchange between other Christians, members, the local community and yourself.

Whilst it may appear simple, it is indeed biblical: the more you give the more you receive.  A few reason for volunteering with the YMCA are:

• you can share your gifts and skills

• you can fulfil your calling and be inspired to serve

• you can develop leadership skills

• you will develop a great sense of satisfaction

• you will be recognised for what you do

• you will be making an impact on other people

• you will be regularly challenged

• your career prospects will be enhanced

• you will be helping others

• you will escape from the mundane or stress of your own job

• you will feel needed

• you will have fun

• you will be part of a supportive team

• you will be an agent of change in the spiritual lives of others

• your talents will be appreciated

• you will make a difference
